Graduates Follow Up Unit
The Graduates Follow-up Division aspires to qualify students and graduates and assist them in obtaining job opportunities in the government and private sectors by training and qualifying them in the skills required by the labor market and communicating with them wherever they are to obtain suitable job opportunities for their specializations.
The main objectives of the Graduate Follow-up Unit:
- Holding training courses in various fields for students and graduates.
- Helping graduate students find jobs that suit their abilities, skills, and scientific specialization.
- Helping companies and institutions looking for employees to reach graduates easily.
- Arranging and preparing for job interviews.
- Follow up on the electronic websites of the Employment and Graduate Affairs Division.
- Guiding and directing students through different programs.
- Establishing an electronic database within the graduate follow-up system.
- Establishing an electronic database for companies.
- Designing courses commensurate with the nature of the unit’s work and preparing plans for it.

Unit Activities
- In cooperation with the Foundation (The Bridge Gate), the Rehabilitation and Employment Division at the university set up an electronic Worksheets for students and graduates entitled (Marketing and Sales Principles) on Thursday 5/5/2020 from 9 pm until 10 pm on (Free Conference Call) Platform. The workshop dealt with the marketing aspect, its most important principles and methods of implementation, with mentioning a number of the most important companies and strategies that they use in marketing.
- In cooperation with the Rehabilitation and Employment Division at the university, The Bridge Gate Foundation set up an electronic workshop for students and graduates entitled (Social Marketing) on Thursday 14/5/2020 at 9 pm on (Free Conference Call) Platform. This workshop Dealt with the concept of social marketing, what it is? How is it planned? With giving examples of this topic, which is considered one of the important types of marketing.
- The Rehabilitation and Employment Division at the University of Technology and through its units in the scientific departments, in cooperation with the (SATGATE_IRAQ) Center, the official and sole representative in Iraq of the American company (EC-Council) which is concerned with cybersecurity, held a workshop entitled “Protect Your Data” on 05/21/2020 At 9 pm until 10 pm on the platform (Free Conference Call), in which information and instructions were presented to protect data for individuals and institutions, the COVID-19 quarantine forced millions of people, students and employees to study or work from home and this represents a golden opportunity for hackers to launch attacks and spread malware because it has become easier to target individuals and institutions away from the safety and protection measures that were applied in the work environment, so cybersecurity and data protection today are more important than ever.
- In cooperation with the Rehabilitation and Employment Division at the University of Technology, represented by its units in the scientific departments, the (Moon Gate) center has set up a technical workshop for all those interested and specialists in the field of networks within the training tour 2020 and by the international trainer (Wissam Ali), a specialist in the field of networks and approved by the global MikroTik company . The session was held on Thursday 6/11/2020 at 9:00 pm on the Free Conference Call platform. In this workshop, they learned about how to deal with devices of the leading company MikroTic in networks in the hardware and software industry in addition to how to set the most basic configuration settings for their devices through GUI and CLI, how to set up DHCP and NAT, in addition to securing devices, using the powers and the importance of taking a backup copy of Data and retrieval, all this and more, using the software prepared from the parent company.
- In cooperation with the Rehabilitation and Employment Division at the Technological University represented by its units in the scientific departments, the (Moon Gate) Center has set up a workshop (Planning and managing your software project) for all those interested and specialists in the field of programming within the training tour 2020 and by the trainer (Osama Ismail Awad), the official spokesman for (Code For Iraq) initiative, on 6/25/2020 on Thursday at nine o’clock in the evening, and on the Free Conference Call platform. In this workshop, you were introduced to how to plan your programmatic project in the post-graduation stage through correct planning, setting goals precisely, specifying requirements and the time required to achieve them, and managing the stages of the software project with a vivid example of planning steps.
- In cooperation with the Rehabilitation and Employment Division at the Technological University represented by its units in the scientific departments, the (Moon Gate) Center has set up a workshop (Planning and managing your software project) for all those interested and specialists in the field of programming within the training tour 2020 and by the trainer (Osama Ismail Awad), the official spokesman for (Code For Iraq) initiative, on 9/7/2020 on Thursday at nine o’clock in the evening, and on the Free Conference Call platform. In this workshop, we were introduced to how to integrate and practically apply the Programmatic project through correct planning, setting goals precisely, specifying the requirements and the time required to achieve them, and managing the stages of the program project through integrated practical steps for each stage of the program project.
- Materials Engineering Department is participating in the “Competitive Funding Program for the Transition from Education to the Labor Market”, with the participation of our University and several universities in Iraq to compete for the finance of our proposed project, “Rehabilitation and Entrepreneurship Center at the University”, which will contribute to train and qualify students and graduates on the skills required in the Iraqi labor market and creating Entrepreneurial work for graduates and the local community within the University of Technology area, this program is supported and funded by the Iraqi Central Bank through the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. Dr. Muhammad Al-Zuhairi / Department of Materials Engineering, Dr. Manal Abdul-Wahed and Dr. Nasser Abdullah / Department of Applied Sciences, are the representatives of the University of Technology, and it is expected that in the event if our project won the funding, a significant contribution of education at the university will contribute to the development of the labor market and the local community through the development of university graduates and their active participation in the technological and industrial sector in Iraq. For that, the representatives mentioned above are participating in a training course for writing the proposed projects remotely with the help of international trainers. This project is ongoing, and now it is in the second stage of the competition, after nominating 30 projects, and only seven fully funded projects will win.
