Abstract:

The need for manufacturing nanomaterial has increased, and because the manufacturing processes, in general, have led to an increase in pollution and damage to the environment, the tendency for green chemistry has increased to extract nanomaterial from natural and available sources. In this research, a safe, environmentally friendly, and inexpensive method was used to synthesize Nano-alumina particles, where the Nano-alumina was extracted from four different types of leaves of local plants that are widely available, which were leaves of Mentha, Buckthorn, Damask Rose, and Myrtus communis, using aluminium nitrate as a precursor. The powders extracted from the mixture of Damask Rose, Mentha, Myrtus communis, and Buckthorn leaves have particle sizes of 231.7 nm, 14.2 nm, 78.5 nm, 12.9 nm, and 166.9 nm, respectively. The results showed that the pure alpha-alumina was procured from all leaves with various morphologies within the nano-size.
